it was hard to choose an excerpt for this chapter. it seems no matter what i chose ended up revealing one of my favorite twists in the fic. *sigh* but i thought, because everybody's been clamoring for some peeta, i'd give you a little P/K footsie action. ;) awww. so here you have a snippet, with a little preventive editing so i don't give away too much yet.

again, it's eleven pages long, but it's a good eleven pages this time. i am le happy with this. (and you probably think i'm bipolar by now. LOL).

see, this is what happens when i plan for the one key event to happen in the middle of the chapter instead of at the end: i wind up having no idea how to actually finish the chapter. add to that the fact that i'm writing from gale's PoV (still can't get it right) and the fact that i'm ridiculously fond of the hawthorne family, and i end up digressing for eleven pages. no wonder this chapter took forever. and even then it sucks. well, at least the second half of it.

and now, because i'm pissed at myself for being a lousy writer, this excerpt will end with an evil cliffhanger. y'all can thank me later.

YOU GUYS. THAT MOVIE. THAT MOVIE YOU GUYSSSSSSSSS. seriously, it's been almost a week and i've already seen it three times since and i STILL can't wrap my head around the utter perfection. it's stupid how amazing that movie was. i do plan on writing up a small review, but that may have to wait until the weekend as i'm kind of busy with application stuff this week, but you'll definitely see a review from me! i have so much to comment about this movie, the "small review" might end up having roughly the word count of an encyclopedia. just a warning.

meanwhile, this took for-freakin'-EVER to write! mainly because i didn't start working on it until monday, and then ridiculously long chapter is ridiculously long (i was going to skim over the parts with her fellow tribute, but i was a sap and decided to give him a backstory. not a good thing, btw). but also i think prim might've taken over gale's spot as hardest PoV to write. my brain just doesn't seem to be able to do "sweet, innocent and scared" right. O_o anyway, here's a little bit of it:
